Widget Permissions
Control which dashboard widgets each role can see and add to their dashboard.
Overview
Tickmark’s dashboard is built from KPI widgets (see Customize Widgets). Widget Permissions lets admins decide, per widget, whether it’s available to everyone or restricted to specific roles — useful for keeping revenue or payroll numbers visible only to the people who should see them.
Navigate to Settings → Widget Permissions. The page shows:
- A searchable Widgets list, grouped by category — Overview, Sales & Revenue, Projects, Team & People, Finance, Productivity, and Custom
- A permission editor for the selected widget
In the list, a globe icon means the widget is visible to everyone, a lock icon means it’s restricted to specific roles, and a Disabled badge means it’s turned off entirely.
Configuring a Widget
Select a Widget
Use the search box or browse the category groups, then click a widget to open its permission editor.
Enable or Disable It
Use the Enabled/Disabled toggle at the top of the editor. A disabled widget won’t appear for anyone, regardless of the visibility settings below it.
Choose Who Can See It
Under “Who can see and add this widget?”, pick one of:
- Everyone — all team members can see and add the widget
- Restricted to specific roles — only the roles you select can see and add it
Select Allowed Roles
When restricted, an Allowed roles list appears. Check each role that should have access — both system roles and custom roles are listed. Changes save automatically.
Switching a widget back to Everyone clears its role restrictions. Restricting a widget with no roles checked has no effect until you select at least one role.
This page is only available to users with permission to manage dashboard widgets (typically admins). Roles themselves are managed under Roles & Permissions.
