Chat Features

Rich messaging features available in both direct messages and group chats.

Reactions

React to any message with emoji:

• Hover over a message → click the reaction picker
• Add one or more reactions
• See who reacted by hovering the reaction

Voice Notes

Send a quick audio message instead of typing:

• With the message box empty, click the microphone icon (“Send voice note”)
• A Recording indicator shows a live timer while you speak
• Click “Stop & Send” to send the voice note, or “Cancel recording” to discard it
• Voice notes play back inline in the conversation

Read Receipts

Tickmark tracks when each message is delivered and read, and conversations are marked as read as you view them — so you know your message landed.

Typing Indicators & Presence

• Typing indicator — see in real time when the other person is typing
• Online presence — a green dot and “Active now” show who’s currently online

Editing & Deleting Messages

• Edit a sent message — it’s marked “(edited)” for everyone
• Delete a message — it’s replaced with “This message was deleted”

@Mentions

Tag team members to notify them:

• Type @ followed by a name to mention someone
• Mentioned users receive a notification

Threading

Reply to specific messages to keep discussions organized:

• Click “Reply” on any message
• The reply appears as a thread linked to the original
• Thread participants are notified of new replies

File Attachments

Share files directly in chat:

• Attach from the file picker, drag-and-drop, or paste from your clipboard
• Attachments show as preview chips before you send
• Images and voice notes render inline in the conversation
