Setting a Budget

  1. Open a project → go to the Budget tab
  2. Enter the total project budget amount
  3. Set your currency
  4. Save

Tracking Costs

Tickmark automatically calculates project costs based on:

  • Time logged — Based on team members’ hourly rates
  • Manual cost entries — Add additional expenses

Budget vs Actual

A visual comparison shows:

  • Total budget — What was allocated
  • Spent so far — Current spending
  • Remaining — How much is left
  • Percentage used — Visual progress bar

Budget Alerts

Get notified when spending approaches your budget limit:

  • Warning — When spending reaches a threshold
  • Over budget — When spending exceeds the budget

Cost Breakdown

View costs broken down by:

  • Team member
  • Task category
  • Time period
